– Identify data required to analyze customer business demand and design logistics solution
– Determine key variables for cost and other estimates such as production time, materials, labor, and resource
– Analyze customer warehousing needs and identify operational requirements to deliver consistent operational performance and model as per customer specification (including but not limited to space, layout, labor and material handling equipment)
– Cooperate closely with other functions (Operations, Transport, HR, IT, Purchasing, Legal, Finance etc.) in order to gather the required input for operational & commercial proposal
– Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates
– Data Analysis, Resource & Cost model preparation, Forecasting, Budgeting
– Perform risk analysis
– Quantify costs and benefits in cooperation with procurement and commercial to create the customer value proposition, in compliance with customer and company requirement.
– Translating approved logistics solutions and cost models into specified design (i.e. Process flows, charts, etc.) in compliance with customer and company requirements.
– Create and submit estimated reports or solutions to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
– Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
– Create and enforce standard SOP’s and replicable solutions.
– Ensure non-standard solutions are documented and signed-off by the customer and subcontractors before the start of the implementation
– Ensure clear SLA’s and KPIs are documented and signed-off by the client and subcontractors before the start of the implementation
– Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, etc.)
– Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
– Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
– Testing solutions through brainstorming and benchmarking exercises, support the warehousing best practice benchmarking and replication of best practices and processes across the Contract Logistics.
– Maintain an up to date knowledge of the cost & resource models
– Maintaining up to date knowledge of both the logistics industry and the defined service demand through the market practice
